The package is here! The package is here! I found a box on the kitchen table today. I'm holding on my lap right now. On the cover it says... Westminster Seminary California. It is a box of books! I am going to open it now, I wonder what I will find!
The fruit of the Spirit is... by JV Fesko
Ooh, the fruit of the Spirit is amazing! really neat! Very Good! Great! I love the fruit of the Spirit and walking that way and I wanna learn to sow in the Spirit so I can reap more of the same! I love Jesus. This book could be a good 'un.
Whoa. I just read the back of the book and found out that this is actually more than a study on Galatians 5:22-23, it's described as "a thoughtful and practical exposition of godliness in relation to Christ, the Spirit, and the old testament." A look through the table of contents tells me that I'm in for some good reading, if I choose to accept my mission...
And underneath that I find...
"A Place For Weakness" by Michael S. Horton
Ooh, it's a book written by a guy who spent his childhood running up the down escalator, and it includes discussion questions. I can tell this one's gonna be good :)
"In A Place For Weakness, Horton exposes the pop-culture mentality that sells Jesus like a product for health and happiness, and he reminds us that our lives often lead to to difficult routes we must follow by faith. This book offers a series of powerful readings demonstrating how, through every type of earthly difficulty, our Father keeps His promises from Scripture and works all things together for our good."
And then there's this other one...
"The Gospel Commission" by Michael Horton
I heard about this book before!! When I read about it on the website. So, I think it will be a good book to own and never read. . . except when I get a round tuit.
Honestly though, I read the back of this book and this book sounds like a really good book. Really.
Okay, that's my discovery of the day, a box of books! It's exciting to me, and I hope I didn't bore you too much! Also, I know that I really want to play my trumpet and that I like cooking food for my parents and for other people.
