When God is rejected, the result is national chaos. When God is embraced... what then?

How strong is your Spiritual foundation?
Hosea Chapter 4:1-6

1 Hear the word of the Lord, ye children of Israel: for the Lord hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.

2 By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood.

3 Therefore shall the land mourn, and everyone that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.

4 Yet let no man strive, nor reprove another: for thy people are as they that strive with the priest.

5 Therefore shalt thou fall in the day, and the prophet also shall fall with thee in the night, and I will destroy thy mother.

6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

In verse 1 you can see the foundation which Israel abandoned (truth, mercy, the knowledge of God) and in verse 2 you can see the result, national chaos. Because of the violence which comes as a result of lawlessness, all growth stops in the nation, and things begin to stagnate. What is true for the nation is true for the individual. Verse 6 says my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. The knowledge is available but the people have rejected it, and as a result God has rejected the people. This passage relates well to America today. They have rejected the knowledge of God; and when the knowledge of God is rejected, the knowledge of man will take it's place. Man is carnal, and sold under sin. His heart is deceitful, and wicked, his thoughts are only evil continually. We see here a solution. Give yourself to the learning of the knowledge of God. Do not reject God's knowledge for even a second longer. Do not strive, or reprove anyone, but go and learn the knowledge of God, then share it with others and we will actually get to see God bringing life to the people around us.
